Boiler & Facilities Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Operate and perform preventative and corrective maintenance on high pressure boilers, turbines, high voltage generators, and auxiliary equipment at an on-site cogeneration plant.
• Maintain and repair equipment including coolers, steam chillers, air compressors, water softeners, fire pumps, and condenser water cooling towers.
• Troubleshoot equipment to identify solutions and perform necessary repairs or modifications.
• Monitor control boards and regulate equipment according to established procedures and instrument readings.
• Manage parts ordering and inventory for facility maintenance.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2 years of industrial or military maintenance experience, or a technical degree in a mechanical/electrical discipline.
• Experience with pressure steam plant operations.
• Experience with absorption or steam chillers operations.
• Ability to climb ladders, lift up to 75lbs, and work in confined spaces, at heights, or in heat.

Preferred Qualifications

• Stationary Engineers License.
• Formal vocational training in plant maintenance, electricity, power distribution, or HVAC.
• 1 year of experience with PLC-based applications in an industrial environment.
• 1 year of experience in plumbing, pipefitting, or pump repair/rebuilding.
• Experience with welding, hydraulics, rigging, or forklifts.
• Experience in a TPM or Lean Six Sigma environment.
• Refrigeration Certification.
