Body Shop Dimensional Engineer

Responsibilities

• Create and implement daily quality control procedures for body shop dimensional control
• Manage body dimensional control procedures and monitor A, B, C & E31 data and metrics
• Coordinate and analyze dimensional data collection from CMM and Perceptron Vision Systems
• Provide corrective action for customer dissatisfaction affecting quality metrics
• Act as a technical resource for skilled trades, production teams, and maintenance groups
• Lead problem-solving activities with Stamping and outside suppliers to resolve process issues
• Direct the design, development, and improvement of manufacturing processes for assigned areas
• Host weekly Dimensional Wall Reviews with Stamping, Body Shop, and GA team members
• Ensure up-to-date gauge calibrations for all tooling equipment

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering (or pursuing an Engineering Degree) or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of experience in body shop tooling
• 1+ year of experience in manufacturing dimensional processes
• Process validation experience with new equipment build, installation, and start-up
• Ability to work rotating shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) and overtime as needed
• Ability to travel 10% or more domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Perceptron systems
• Proficiency with Teamcenter Vis Mockup
• Knowledge of CMM, Hexagon, and Scan Box equipment
• Experience with Leica/VRSI
