Body in White CAD Engineer

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, development, and release of Body Structure components using CAD (Catia V5/3DX)
• Evaluate design alternatives using engineering principles, benchmarking, and analysis of structural sections, components, and sub-systems
• Adapt existing design approaches and apply problem-solving techniques to resolve issues involving packaging, manufacturability, and performance
• Collaborate with CAE, manufacturing, studio, and supplier teams to refine designs and resolve technical challenges
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and external CAD resources
• Serve as a technical liaison with external partners
• Support tolerance development and ensure robust dimensional strategies for Body Structure components
• Identify risks, propose solutions, and drive issues to closure

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
• 5+ years of experience in Body Structures, BIW, or related automotive engineering roles
• Strong proficiency in CAD design (Catia V5 or 3DX preferred)
• Solid understanding of structural design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers
• Familiarity with CAE methods
• Valid driver's license
