Body & Chassis Test Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical preparation, instrumentation, and data collection for automotive durability testing
• Install and apply transducers, accelerometers, load cells, and other electrical equipment
• Execute test runs for vehicle subsystems and components, including suspension and chassis
• Conduct sample preparation, fixturing, installation, and removal of test equipment
• Maintain high data quality and ensure customer satisfaction through precise test execution
• Adhere to all workplace health and safety requirements and practices

Requirements

• High School Diploma required
• Proficient electrical and mechanical knowledge and skills
• Experience with general machine shop fabrication (drill press, band saw, grinders, welding, etc.)
• Ability to read prints and assist with test fixture layout and builds
• Proficiency in MS Office and PC-based systems
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Automotive Technology
• Previous experience in a testing environment, including hydraulic or pneumatic systems
• Familiarity with MTS controllers or automotive subsystems
• Three or more years of experience in vehicle system testing or lab environments
