BOB-Team Leader

Responsibilities

• Serve as a team leader and quality control engineer in the Bridge Inspection & Management unit
• Perform in-depth, routine, special, and emergency inspections of elevated structures, tunnels, and roadways
• Use equipment such as bucket trucks, man-lifts, ladders, and snoopers in all weather conditions
• Prepare bridge condition sketches and produce inspection reports per New York State standards
• Identify and prioritize potential hazards
• Prepare structural and safety flags with necessary plans, drawings, and technical specifications
• Drive an inspection van for fieldwork

Requirements

• Four years of full-time civil engineering experience
• Valid New York State Professional Engineer’s License
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office suite
• Ability to perform inspections in all weather conditions, including nights and weekends
• Ability to drive a city-owned vehicle
• Valid New York State Motor Vehicle Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in civil engineering
• Experience as a major contributor or project leader on complex projects
