About the Company

Self Help Graphics & Art fosters the creation and advancement of new art works by Chicana/o and Latinx artists through experimental and innovative printmaking techniques and other visual art forms. Since 1973, we have been at the intersection of arts and social justice, providing a home that fosters the creativity and development of local artists.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and strategic direction to ensure the organization fulfills its mission effectively and ethically
• Review and approve budgets, financial reports, and major financial decisions
• Assist in fundraising efforts by cultivating relationships with donors and identifying funding opportunities
• Serve as ambassadors for the organization within the community
• Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans
• Participate actively in board committees such as finance, development, or governance
• Monitor and evaluate programs to ensure alignment with mission and goals
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards

Requirements

• Passion for the organization's mission and values
• Previous experience serving on nonprofit boards or professional experience in finance, fundraising, or legal fields
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
• Willingness to dedicate time and resources to fulfill board responsibilities
• Integrity, ethics, and a commitment to transparency
