Blood Bank Technician

Responsibilities

• Test the quality and compatibility of blood for transfusion
• Coordinate procurement, stock management, and distribution of blood to hospital departments
• Manage Blood Bank data and records
• Monitor blood quality, safety, temperature stability, reagents, and screening cells
• Adhere to Blood Bank protocols and standard operating procedures
• Collaborate with the Head of the Blood Bank to update and review SOPs
• Ensure all services comply with applicable guidelines
• Prevent errors in blood identification and distribution
• Manage blood supply efficiently based on clinical indications

Requirements

• Minimum D3 (Associate Degree) in Blood Transfusion Technology
• At least 1 year of work experience in a Blood Bank or clinical laboratory
• Good knowledge of Blood Bank regulations and standards
• Strong leadership, analytical, and critical thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified training
• Blood Bank certification
