Bitcoin Security Director

Responsibilities

• Lead the Strategy Bitcoin Security Program, coordinating across Cybersecurity, Finance, Legal, and Executive Leadership.
• Serve as the internal authority on Bitcoin protocol, network security, and consensus-related risks.
• Provide expert guidance on cryptographic primitives, key management, hardware wallets, and multisignature architectures.
• Evaluate and advise on Bitcoin wallet architectures and institutional-grade custody models.
• Analyze emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and research developments within the Bitcoin and blockchain ecosystem.
• Translate complex cryptographic security concepts into actionable guidance for executive leadership and the Board.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with industry players, including exchanges, custodians, and core developers.
• Launch and lead an industry-wide Bitcoin security program to build trust and consensus within the global community.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cryptography, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity, cryptography, distributed systems, or financial systems.
• Deep expertise in Bitcoin protocol security, blockchain systems, and associated threat models.
• Proficiency in cryptographic primitives, including digital signatures, hashing, and secure key storage.
• Hands-on experience with Bitcoin custody solutions, multisignature wallets, and hardware-backed security.
• Strong ability to communicate highly technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and executives.
• Proven ability to operate as a senior individual contributor with high autonomy and sound judgment.
