Bitcoin Security Director

Responsibilities

• Lead the Strategy Bitcoin Security Program, coordinating across Cybersecurity, Finance, Legal, and Executive Leadership.
• Serve as the internal authority on Bitcoin protocol, network security, and consensus-related risks.
• Provide expert guidance on cryptographic primitives, key management, hardware wallets, and multisignature architectures.
• Evaluate and advise on Bitcoin wallet architectures and institutional-grade custody models.
• Analyze emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and research developments within the Bitcoin and blockchain ecosystem.
• Translate complex cryptographic security concepts into actionable guidance for executive leadership and the Board.
• Launch and lead an industry-wide Bitcoin security program to build trust and consensus among global partners.
• Build and maintain relationships with exchanges, custodians, asset managers, and core developers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cryptography, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity, cryptography, distributed systems, or financial systems.
• Deep understanding of cryptographic primitives, including digital signatures, hashing, and secure key storage.
• Demonstrated hands-on expertise in Bitcoin protocol security and blockchain threat models.
• Experience designing or assessing Bitcoin custody solutions, including multisignature and hardware wallets.
• Strong executive communication skills with the ability to advise non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to operate as a senior individual contributor with high autonomy and sound judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in a relevant technical discipline.
