Biomedical Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance for biomedical, laboratory, and simulation equipment
• Diagnose faults and repair devices including patient monitoring systems and diagnostic equipment
• Assist in the installation, setup, and commissioning of new biomedical equipment
• Conduct routine inspections, calibration, and functional testing to ensure manufacturer specifications are met
• Maintain accurate equipment inventory, asset tagging, and detailed service history records
• Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions and provide technical support to faculty and staff
• Coordinate with external vendors for specialized maintenance and repairs
• Monitor spare parts inventory and ensure the use of manufacturer-approved components

Requirements

• Diploma in Biomedical Engineering or a related field
• 2–5 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance preferred
• Strong knowledge of electronics, medical devices, and laboratory systems
• Experience working in hospitals, medical colleges, or simulation centers is preferred
• Technical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
