About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of diagnostic tests within Haematology and Blood Transfusion, including cross-matching and serology
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as Alinity HQ, Alinity HS, ACL TOP 550, and Neo Iris
- Use the WinPath Laboratory Information Management System
- Analyse patient samples and validate results
- Participate in quality control procedures and ensure compliance with UKAS standards
- Support junior staff and work within a multidisciplinary team
Requirements
- HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist
- Minimum of 2 years post-registration experience in Haematology and Blood Transfusion
- Proven competence in cross-matching and serological techniques
- Proficiency with Alinity HQ, Alinity HS, ACL TOP 550, Neo Iris, and WinPath
- Experience working in a UKAS-accredited laboratory
- Strong understanding of quality assurance and laboratory safety procedures
- Ability to work 24/7 shifts as required
