Biomedical Scientist Blood Transfusion

Responsibilities

• Perform specialist blood transfusion procedures including blood group serology, antibody screening, and cross-matching
• Interpret transfusion test results and maintain accurate laboratory records
• Ensure compliance with UKAS accreditation standards
• Assist in quality control procedures and support training and competency assessments
• Contribute to the day-to-day running of the transfusion laboratory

Requirements

• HCPC registration
• Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent
• Extensive experience in blood transfusion and serology
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Winpath
• Knowledge of Blood 360
