Biomedical Engineering Support Specialist III

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming and periodic inspections on new and current medical equipment
• Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure equipment conforms to manufacturer standards
• Install, calibrate, and test medical devices according to manufacturer literature
• Manage inventory and assets of medical equipment following VA procedures
• Perform preventive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to determine the source of defects
• Document all actions using the VA electronic system

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of hospital or healthcare experience in medical equipment maintenance
• Associate degree or higher in applied science or equivalent military training
• Competency in operational verification, planned maintenance, and repair of medical equipment
• Understanding of regulatory agency requirements and ISO standards
• Familiarity with the setup and application of test equipment
• Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust eligibility
