Biology Instructor

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction in biology, microbiology, or environmental science that aligns with course objectives and institutional standards
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, assignments, and assessments to support diverse learning styles
• Utilize various instructional modes, including technology-enhanced learning and online learning management systems
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to promote academic growth and success
• Foster a supportive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment
• Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and assessments
• Serve as an academic resource for students, offering guidance on coursework and study strategies

Requirements

• Must reside in the state of Ohio
• Master's degree in biology, microbiology, or environmental science
• If the degree is in another field, must have the equivalent of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution
• Effective communication skills and the ability to maintain positive working relationships with students and staff
• Proficiency with online learning management systems and various instructional technologies
• Successful completion of a background check

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in the subject area from a regionally accredited institution
• Previous teaching experience at the collegiate level
• Experience with curriculum development and assessment
