Bioinformatics Student Assistant

Responsibilities

• Analyze sequencing data including RNA-Seq, whole-genome sequencing, and metagenomics
• Write data wrangling and analysis scripts for experimental data sets
• Perform literature research and report findings clearly
• Maintain consistent availability for 10–15 hours per week across 2 days

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree combining data science/coding and biology (e.g., computational biology, bioinformatics)
• Coding experience in R and/or Python and standard bioinformatics software
• Understanding of best practices in data management and analysis
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic experience with cloud data storage and cloud computing
• Familiarity with microbiology and systems biology methods such as metabolic modelling
