Bioelectronics Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead wetware integration strategy across biosensor proteins, surface chemistry, hydrogels, membranes, and readout hardware
• Design diagnostic experiments to distinguish between biosensor failure, immobilization failure, and hardware noise
• Execute directed evolution workflows and guide protein design based on experimental results
• Synthesize or adapt materials for bioelectronics interfaces
• Merge novel device hardware with proteins and materials in collaboration with the hardware team
• Help automate fabrication and assay workflows using robotics

Requirements

• PhD in a relevant science/engineering field with strong independent execution, or BS/MS with 5+ years of industry experience
• Deep expertise in protein engineering, protein expression/purification, surface chemistry, or biomaterials
• Ability to build or customize instrumentation for protein biophysics, optics, and electrochemistry
• Quantitative experimental design skills and precision in scientific project management
• Strong technical communication skills across multidisciplinary teams

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of industry experience in device engineering, specifically molecular sensing or medical device design
• 2+ years of experience in medical device manufacturing
• Ability to write custom scripts for data analysis and interfacing with lab instruments
• Experience in team management and mentoring across diverse scientific disciplines
