Bindery Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate bindery equipment including stitchers, drills, padders, strappers, and shrink wrap machines
• Ensure quality and accuracy of printed products through thorough proofreading and comparison to header sheets
• Build boxes, insert necessary materials, and apply correct mailing labels
• Scan boxed orders into tracking systems (FedEx, UPS, or USPS) and print labels
• Prepare skids for shipment and coordinate with truck line brokers for LTL and truckload shipments
• Process international mail and manage all required documentation
• Maintain a clean and well-stocked workstation

Requirements

• Strong proofreading skills and above-average reading comprehension
• Proficiency in using computer software for tracking and inventory management
• Basic math skills for weighing packages and calculating shipping costs
• Ability to lift and move packages and stand/walk/kneel for 8-10 hours a day
• Understanding of shipping regulations and packaging best practices
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a warehouse, shipping, or logistics environment
• Experience operating pallet jacks
• Familiarity with quality control processes in a printing environment
