Bindery Operator 2

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate auxiliary binding machines including cutters, collators, stitchers, and drills
• Operate automatic bindery machines and Perfect Bound Booklet Makers
• Inspect equipment for safety issues and maintain functional accuracy
• Monitor quality, output, and productivity
• Direct crew through all aspects of production
• Make adjustments to coordinate multiple work stations on a single machine

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret written work orders and job specifications
• Skill in using standard and specialized tools to adjust bindery machines
• Knowledge of coated and uncoated paper stock requirements
• Ability to calculate distances, clearances, and fits in combining machines
• General knowledge of complex bindery machines like perfect binders and multiple station collators
