BIM/VDC Engineer

Responsibilities

• Facilitate problem solving using technology and collaboration with internal and external project teams
• Coordinate workload for one or more projects with VDC Manager(s)
• Manage modeling efforts and deliverables to solve construction issues
• Track responsibilities and provide progress updates for the VDC coordination schedule
• Identify and resolve coordination conflicts using clash detection in Navisworks
• Lead clash resolution and coordination meetings to ensure completion of all items
• Produce accurate models using modeling best practices and company standards
• Conduct quality reviews of modeled scope and confirm compliance with contract documents
• Apply training concepts and lessons learned to facilitate project coordination
• Implement VDC services in accordance with standards and best practices
• Contribute to VDC goals and company initiatives

Requirements

• 0–4 years of BIM/VDC experience on commercial construction projects
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Computer Graphics, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent training and experience
• Willingness to relocate and travel
• Knowledge of 3D modeling and coordination tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment as well as independently
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and other applicable tools
• Understanding of contract documents, drawings, specifications, and project schedules
• Basic understanding of the construction management process (RFIs, Submittals, Shop Drawings)

• Experience applying VDC best practices on large-scale projects
