BIM Technician

Responsibilities

• Deliver CAD/BIM design data and undertake quality control processes
• Use 3D modelling to support design collaboration, clash resolution, and asset data capture
• Support the development of the common data environment platform and process using Autodesk Construction Cloud or BIM 360
• Create and develop a standardised BIM element library to support model reuse and low carbon solutions
• Take responsibility for cyber security aspects associated with CAD/BIM data and access
• Validate CAD/BIM models from suppliers and integrate them into internal models
• Work with designers to manage the competing tensions of time, cost, and quality
• Manage safety, wellbeing, environment, and sustainability within BIM/CAD outputs
• Support project teams' understanding of BIM and provide technical guidance to less experienced technicians

Requirements

• Recognised qualification in Computer-aided design (CAD), BIM, or a related field
• Proficiency in one or more Autodesk authoring packages, such as Revit, Civil 3D, or AutoCAD
• Experience with water, wastewater, or related infrastructure projects
• Experience authoring 3D models within a common data environment (Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360)
• Understanding of information management principles as set out in ISO 19650
• Strong communication skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving
• Ability to deliver results within short timeframes and manage tasks efficiently
