Billing Team Lead

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the billing team, ensuring accurate and timely invoice processing and claims submissions.
• Serve as the primary resource for complex billing discrepancies, customer complaints, and payment issues.
• Mentor and train billing team members and new hires to ensure high performance and accuracy.
• Analyze data to identify payor performance, streamline claim submissions, and reduce claim denials.
• Review and categorize aged receivables for Home Care and Hospice to manage workflow.
• Investigate denied or underpaid claims and follow up to facilitate resolution and payment.
• Ensure compliance with payer contracts, State and Federal laws, and departmental guidelines.
• Manage the delivery of patient payor changes and ensure daily processing of Medicare NOA’s and NOE’s.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (post-secondary coursework in Finance, Accounting, or IT preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Medicare, Medicaid, or Commercial billing.
• Advanced Excel experience is required.
• Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills, specifically with Microsoft Word.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Home Health and Hospice billing.
• Proven experience in a leadership or mentoring role within a revenue cycle environment.
