Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and process client invoices in accordance with billing guidelines
• Review attorney matter entries and expenses for accuracy and compliance
• Coordinate monthly billing cycles and ensure timely invoice delivery
• Partner with attorneys to review pre-bills and implement edits
• Respond to billing inquiries from attorneys and clients with professionalism
• Track outstanding invoices and assist with collections efforts
• Reconcile billing discrepancies and resolve payment-related questions
• Identify opportunities to streamline billing workflows through automation and AI
• Maintain billing data within practice management and financial systems

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
• 3–5+ years of legal billing or law firm finance experience
• Experience working with legal billing systems and accounting software
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience billing for sophisticated corporate or financial services clients
• Familiarity with legal e-billing platforms (e.g., Legal Tracker, CounselLink, Tymetrix, Serengeti)
• Experience with law firm practice management or accounting systems
• Experience leveraging AI tools to improve finance and operational workflows
• Experience in a high-growth startup or rapidly scaling professional services organization
