Billing Specialist

Responsibilities

• Ensure a smooth, efficient, and timely claim submission process with minimal denials
• Follow up on unpaid claims, denials, and appeals to ensure maximum reimbursement
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or coding issues
• Collaborate with internal clinical teams to provide charting requirements and training on billing processes
• Provide support and guidance to patients regarding insurance coverage and billing inquiries
• Manage abortion fund invoicing and reimbursements
• Generate and analyze reports to monitor billing performance and identify areas for improvement
• Support new payor partnerships by owning billing and coding workflows

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a Billing Specialist in a healthcare setting (telehealth preferred)
• Deep expertise in Medicaid billing guidelines and state-specific reimbursement rules
• Strong proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
• Proven experience managing the full claims lifecycle, including denial management and appeals
• Hands-on experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) systems
• Solid understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient data privacy
• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

• Compensation: $60,000 - $65,000 per year plus equity
