Responsibilities

• Independently manage and support all topics within the area of indirect taxes, specifically VAT and energy taxes
• Prepare, review, and submit tax returns (e.g., VAT advance notifications, summary statements, and energy tax declarations)
• Prepare and analyze reporting data from accounting and upstream systems
• Ensure tax compliance and adherence to all legal deadlines
• Handle communication and correspondence with domestic and international tax authorities, auditors, and customs offices
• Support tax audits, including special VAT, customs, and energy tax examinations
• Assist in the development of tax-relevant processes and systems
• Participate in tax projects such as internationalization, process harmonization, or digitalization
• Provide technical support to internal departments regarding tax queries

Requirements

• Completed training as a Bilanzbuchhalter (IHK) or a degree in accounting, taxation, or finance
• Multi-year professional experience in accounting or tax, ideally with a focus on indirect taxes
• Sound knowledge of VAT law; knowledge of energy and consumption tax law is an advantage
• Experience in preparing tax filings and interacting with financial authorities
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and MS Excel
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional foreign languages are a plus
• Structured, diligent, and independent working style with strong analytical skills
