About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair rental fleet bikes
- Order necessary parts
- Inspect customer bikes and offer repair or replacement options
- Clean bike shop and storage areas
- Write up repair tickets and follow up on status
- Communicate repair status and orders with other mechanics
- Charge consistent and fair prices using shop guidelines
Requirements
- Experience repairing bikes
- Ability to tune front and rear derailleurs
- Experience with brakes, replacing tubes, and changing tires
- Experience lubing chains and wrapping handlebars
- Mechanical skills and dexterity
- Availability during shop hours
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant experience as a bike mechanic
- Completion of a bike mechanic training course
- Experience with bottom brackets and hydraulic brake bleeding
- Experience with air shock tuning, cluster and chain ring replacement
- Experience with wheel truing, bike building, and hub replacement
