BESS Solution Engineer & Sales Support

Responsibilities

• Own the technical design of behind-the-meter BESS projects, including architecture, technology selection, and key interfaces (EMS, inverter, HVAC, fire safety, etc.).
• Define and maintain technical standards, specifications, and best practices for decentralized BESS deployments.
• Ensure compliance with ENGIE and local Health & Safety (H&S) requirements across design, installation, and commissioning.
• Support Sales teams with technical qualification, solution design, and RFP responses.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors and technology partners during procurement and installation by reviewing design packages and managing technical deviations.
• Audit partner installations to verify compliance and define corrective action plans.

Requirements

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification.
• 4 to 10 years of experience in BESS engineering or a similar role.
• Deep technical knowledge of battery systems (BESS) and associated energy assets.
• Solid engineering expertise in industrial projects and EPC contracts.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements for industrial installations and contractor management.
• Ability to work in a multi-partner, European-wide environment with occasional travel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience covering the full asset lifecycle from development and construction to operation.
• Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear messages for customer-facing discussions.
• Interest in broadening exposure to commercial topics such as value drivers and contracting principles.
