About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee the administration and management of all employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA, CFRA, parental leave, and medical leave.
- Manage the full cycle of reasonable accommodation processes in collaboration with HR and legal teams.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave eligibility, documentation, and return-to-work procedures.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of leave requests, approvals, and communications.
- Support benefits administration by responding to employee inquiries and maintaining data within the HRIS.
- Assist in the planning and execution of annual open enrollment and the distribution of required benefits documentation.
- Provide backup support for the administration of benefit plans such as health, dental, vision, and retirement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience: two years of full-time experience in a similar position is equal to one year of post-high school coursework).
- At least one year of experience in HR leave administration, benefits administration, or a related HR function.
- Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, CFRA, and STD/LTD laws.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Banner and Argos systems.
- Strong working knowledge of job protection rights and related leave laws.
- Excellent customer service skills with a high degree of compassion and empathy.
- Demonstrated commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills to meet strict deadlines.
