About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide primary management and leadership in Benefits Administration
- Serve as a specialist for complex benefit issues and problems
- Manage and administer Public Employee Benefits Board (PEBB) and Washington State Healthcare Authority (HCA) benefits
- Manage and lead benefits staff
- Work closely with management to promote best practices and a collaborative workplace
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and four years of progressively responsible human resource experience in benefit programs (including retirement, health insurance, and disability)
- At least one year of supervisory experience facilitating employee growth and accountability
- Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying federal and state benefits regulations, rules, and policies
- Demonstrated experience with vendor management
- Proficiency in the use of computers and software applications
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, including conflict resolution
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with enterprise HRIS platforms such as Workday, PeopleSoft, or Dayforce
- Experience with the state of Washington Public Employee Benefit Board or Paid Family Medical Leave programs
- Experience in a higher education setting
- Professional certification from a recognized human resource association
- Experience in classification, compensation, employee relations, or labor relations
