About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage the administration of all employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, FSA, HSA, EAP, life, disability, retirement/403(b), and wellness programs.
- Serve as a primary resource for faculty and staff regarding benefit enrollment, claims, and program inquiries.
- Lead the Fiduciary Retirement Plan Investment Committee and coordinate the annual 403(b) audit.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including ERISA, COBRA, ACA, HIPAA, and CMS Disclosure.
- Manage vendor relationships, oversee transitions to new providers, and partner with brokers for annual renewals.
- Develop and execute open enrollment strategies and benefit communications.
- Monitor self-insured medical and dental claims and provide quarterly budget projections.
- Process FMLA, ADA, Workers’ Compensation, and OSHA-related matters.
- Coordinate wellness activities and serve as a member of the Wellness Committee.
- Assist Payroll with benefit deductions and support the Director of Human Resources with special projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Public Health, or a related field.
- 3+ years of direct experience in employee benefits administration.
- Proven experience in retirement administration, workplace wellness, or health program planning.
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, ACA, and HIPAA regulations.
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with high levels of discretion and professionalism.
