About the role

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administration of flexible benefit programs including medical, dental, life, disability, and reimbursement accounts.
  • Develop benefit plan designs, negotiate rate renewals, and prepare program communications for all firm personnel.
  • Manage the firm's Leave of Absence Program, ensuring compliance with FMLA and other state requirements.
  • Research and resolve benefit issues and act as a liaison between the firm and insurance carriers.
  • Monitor insurance and benefit budgets and manage annual filings such as Form 5500 and ACA information returns.
  • Conduct new hire benefit orientations and manage benefit-related communications for departing employees.
  • Oversee the day-to-day responsibilities of the Benefits team member.
  • Administer the firm's wellness programs, including employee communications and incentive programs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in employee benefits.
  • Proven experience working with HRIS technology (UltiPro preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills for planning and administering benefit programs.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills for discussing sensitive and confidential information.
  • Comprehensive understanding of industry regulations including COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and ADA.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Professional certification as a benefits specialist.
  • Experience working within a law firm or professional services environment.
