About the role

Responsibilities

  • Administer University leave programs, including FMLA, personal leaves, and state/federal statutory leaves.
  • Manage the interactive process for ADA disability accommodation requests and maintain confidential files.
  • Process workers’ compensation claims, maintain OSHA logs, and coordinate with medical providers and carriers.
  • Administer short-term and long-term disability programs, including form processing and recordkeeping.
  • Manage COBRA continuation coverage, insurance premium administration, and unemployment insurance claims.
  • Maintain data integrity within Banner HR and the Benefits Administration Platform (BenefitFocus).
  • Support retirement processing for hourly employees and assist with annual benefit renewals.
  • Provide daily assistance and support to employees regarding benefits and leave inquiries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 1 year of human resources or related experience, OR some college coursework with at least 2 years of human resources experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and workers' compensation regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive information with diplomacy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a job-share environment requiring consistent documentation and communication.
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with employee benefits, insurance regulations, or leave/ADA compliance.
  • Experience using HRIS systems or specialized benefits administration platforms.
