Benefits Analyst

Responsibilities

• Assist with the administration of employee benefit programs, including retirement and voluntary offerings
• Reconcile monthly billings and payments to benefit vendors and calculate necessary payroll adjustments
• Resolve employee benefits issues through coordination with staff, consultants, and service providers
• Develop and maintain databases and spreadsheets for human resources information and generate research reports
• Present New Employee Orientation and ensure all orientation materials are current
• Support the management of Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) functions, including eligibility and tracking
• Assist with health insurance enrollment, explain coverage, and verify employee payroll deductions
• Ensure compliance with all policies, rules, regulations, and applicable laws
• Act as the Navajo County “Health Guide” and maintain high standards of confidentiality

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
• Two years of experience in human resources
• Knowledge of health insurance within the State of Arizona
• Knowledge of applicable employment and labor laws
• Valid Arizona Driver License

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior work experience in a government setting

Navajo County offers a comprehensive employee benefits package to regular employees working 40 hours per week. Regular part-time employees working 30–39 hours per week receive benefits on a pro-rated basis.
