Benefits Administrator

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and communication regarding University health, welfare, and retirement plans
• Partner with leadership to evaluate benefit options during annual renewal processes
• Meet with new staff and faculty to communicate benefit options during onboarding
• Coordinate data transfers to external vendors and audit/reconcile benefit vendor billing
• Manage leave processes including Minnesota Paid and Family Leave, Workers’ Compensation, Disability, and FMLA
• Assist with the ADA interactive process and notify employees of their rights and responsibilities
• Serve as the primary contact for benefit inquiries and assist employees with the enrollment process
• Act as the University’s Privacy Officer

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field (or an Associate's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience)
• 1-2 years of experience in Benefits Administration or Human Resources
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and HRIS systems
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding benefits and leave
• Ability to handle highly confidential information with empathy and sincerity

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with leave management processes
• Experience performing benefits analysis techniques
