Bench Hand

Responsibilities

• Operate diverse manufacturing support processes including brazing, deburring, and precision cleaning within a specific work cell
• Set up and operate equipment such as heat treat ovens, polishing machines, pressure testers, and power flush systems
• Remove burrs, sharp edges, and tool marks from machined parts to meet engineering blueprint and tolerance requirements
• Perform inspections and testing to ensure parts meet manufacturing standards and specifications
• Use various hand tools, grinders, drills, saws, and tube bending equipment for assembly
• Maintain accurate documentation and proper part identification per planning specifications
• Clean and organize the cellular manufacturing work area to maintain established standards

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of manufacturing experience involving small parts
• Proficiency in pressure testing, deburring, polishing, and cleaning
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprint drawings and follow planning instructions
• Knowledge of GD&T specifications and ability to perform basic inspections
• Experience using measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges
• U.S. Citizenship is required
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and meet physical requirements for reaching and grip strength
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance if required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience applying braze alloy
• Basic lathe and mill operations experience
