Bench Hand

Responsibilities

• Perform metal finishing processes including deburring, polishing, and assembly to meet engineering specifications
• Set up and operate manufacturing equipment such as heat treat ovens, precision cleaning, and gear checking machines
• Remove burrs, sharp edges, and tool marks from machined parts using files, grinders, and other hand tools
• Conduct inspections and testing to ensure parts meet manufacturing standards and blueprint tolerances
• Maintain accurate documentation and proper part identification per planning specifications
• Organize and maintain a clean, efficient cellular manufacturing work area

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• 3-4 years of manufacturing experience involving bench assembly, machining, or deburring
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprint drawings and follow detailed instructions
• Proficiency with measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges
• Knowledge of GD&T specifications
• U.S. Citizenship is required
• Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting 50 pounds and maintaining specific grip strength
