About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assist NDIS participants, families, and carers to manage challenging behaviours and develop new skills
  • Complete thorough assessments to understand behaviour triggers and identify risks
  • Develop comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans and provide guidance for consistent implementation
  • Maintain a caseload with ongoing monitoring, support, and necessary adjustments
  • Develop meaningful goals and practical strategies using a positive behaviour support framework
  • Work to eliminate restrictive practices in home and community settings
  • Build the capacity and strengths of those supporting participants, including family and friends
  • Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Requirements

  • Extensive experience working within the NDIS framework
  • Experience supporting individuals with disabilities and challenging behaviours
  • Strong report writing skills with the ability to translate findings into actionable plans
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills for caseload management
  • Commitment to person-centred practice and reducing restrictive interventions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree-level qualifications relevant to providing support for behaviours of concern
