About the role

Responsibilities

  • Act as a positive role model, supporting students to make good choices and engage in education
  • Build professional relationships to encourage participation in school life
  • Work with individuals and small groups to improve engagement, attendance, and organisation
  • Support staff to maintain high standards of attendance, punctuality, and behaviour
  • Supervise detentions, reflection spaces, and students returning from exclusion
  • Maintain accurate records of student support and escalate safeguarding concerns promptly
  • Contribute to a calm, orderly environment during key times of the day
  • Support enforcement of uniform expectations and assist with incident information gathering

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent
  • Experience working with teenagers
  • Experience working with inner-city communities and people from different backgrounds
  • Experience following and promoting a code of behaviour
  • Strong ICT skills and organisational abilities
  • Excellent listening skills, patience, and professionalism
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
