About the role
Responsibilities
- Support the design, implementation, and evaluation of awareness-raising and behavior change strategies to promote circular economy and sustainable tourism in Cusco and Urubamba.
- Develop and coordinate educational campaigns using innovative approaches and digital technologies to engage local communities, the tourism sector, and the education sector.
- Create tailored communication guidelines and multimedia resources that integrate gender equality, cultural relevance, and intercultural perspectives.
- Act as a technical and cultural liaison between the UNESCO Office in Peru, KOICA, and relevant Korean and international public institutions.
- Develop monitoring and evaluation systems to measure the impact of behavior change activities through clear performance indicators.
- Support the translation of key documents (reports, presentations, and educational materials) between Spanish/English and Korean.
Requirements
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Education, Cultural Heritage, Circular Economy, Sustainability, or a related field.
- At least two years of professional experience in international cooperation projects in Latin America related to environmental management, tourism, or cultural heritage, OR two years of experience implementing behavior change campaigns in multicultural environments.
- Fluency in Korean (required for liaison and translation duties).
- Proficiency in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
- Only nationals of the Republic of Korea are eligible to apply for this secondment position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to design context-specific tools to support behavior change and monitor their impact.
- Experience integrating gender, intercultural, and community participation approaches into communication strategies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to produce high-quality technical reports.
