About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide direct service to adults with autism focusing on behavior reduction and skill acquisition goals
- Follow strict safety and engagement parameters using basic supportive learning techniques
- Record, maintain, interpret, and analyze behavioral data in both computerized and non-computerized formats
- Maintain a productive and organized instructional environment
- Support individuals with autism in various settings, including center-based and community-based locations
- Utilize public transportation to support participants in community settings
Requirements
- High school or vocational school education (or equivalent)
- Minimum of three months of prior experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in an ABA setting
- Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
- Valid New Jersey Substitute Teacher Certificate
- Ability to complete crisis management training and physically perform techniques such as lifting, blocking, or restraining if necessary
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently and assist with weights over 100 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working specifically in settings that support adults with autism
- Prior experience or certification in crisis management
- Proficiency with web-based data collection and analysis software
- Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite
