Behavioral Home Direct Support Professional

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with planned activities and community engagement to promote social inclusion
• Develop relationship maps to identify social inclusion opportunities and foster meaningful connections
• Provide supervision and intervention to ensure safety within the community
• Assist with individualized supports, including personal care, hygiene, bathing, and toileting
• Participate in person-centered planning and implement individual goals
• Complete required documentation, data collection, and progress notes
• Administer medications in accordance with state regulations and agency protocols
• Report any safety, health, or human rights concerns immediately

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle for travel with supported individuals
• Proof of automobile insurance
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, and transferring
• Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in escalated or stressful situations

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in human services or a related field supporting individuals with disabilities
