Behavioral Health Technician

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient treatment plans from admission through discharge in the Inpatient Psychiatry department
• Facilitate educational, structured, and psycho-educational groups using cognitive behavioral therapy models
• De-escalate patients utilizing CPI techniques and assist in conflict resolution
• Conduct safety rounds and provide supportive care to patients and families
• Maintain a therapeutic milieu and incorporate Recovery principles into interventions
• Document patient interventions in a succinct, goal-directed manner using DAR format
• Monitor patients during seclusion or restraint applications when appropriate
• Engage patients in community meetings and interact with families regarding patient progress

Requirements

• High School diploma
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• CPI certification (required upon hire or within 60 days of hire)
• 2 years of prior experience working with patients with addiction issues

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Addiction or Psychology
• Recent experience (within the last five years) providing behavioral health care
