Behavioral Health Technician

Responsibilities

• De-escalate patients utilizing CPI techniques and assist in conflict resolution
• Facilitate educational, structured, and psycho-educational groups in accordance with patient care plans
• Provide supportive care to patients and families while maintaining a therapeutic milieu
• Conduct safety rounds and monitor patients, including the application of seclusion or restraints when appropriate
• Document interventions in a succinct, goal-directed manner using the DAR format
• Support patients with dual diagnoses, including co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders
• Incorporate Recovery principles into all therapeutic interventions

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of prior experience working with patients experiencing addiction issues
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• CPI certification (required upon hire or within 60 days of hire)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Addiction or Psychology
• Recent experience (within the last five years) providing behavioral health care
