Behavioral Health Technician

Responsibilities

• De-escalate patients utilizing CPI techniques and assist in conflict resolution
• Facilitate educational, structured, and psycho-educational therapeutic groups
• Coordinate patient treatment plans from admission through discharge
• Conduct safety rounds and monitor patients in seclusion or restraint when appropriate
• Provide supportive care to patients and families while maintaining a therapeutic milieu
• Document interventions in a succinct, goal-directed manner using DAR format
• Support patients presenting with dual diagnoses, including co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of prior experience working with patients with addiction issues
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• CPI certification (required upon hire or within 60 days of hire)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Addiction or Psychology
• Recent experience (within the last five years) providing behavioral health care
