Behavioral Direct Support Professional

Responsibilities

• Act as a community connector by performing community mapping to promote social inclusion for individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Assist individuals with planned activities, community involvement, and developing a network of social connections.
• Provide individualized support, including personal care (bathing, hygiene, etc.) and skill acquisition.
• Maintain a calm demeanor and respond appropriately to aggressive or verbal outbursts.
• Complete required documentation, including data collection and monthly progress notes.
• Assist in developing Person Centered Planning by providing information for assessments and implementation strategies.
• Distribute medication in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Report any safety, health, or human rights concerns immediately to a supervisor.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation.
• Valid driver's license.
• Proof of automobile insurance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the human services field or working with persons experiencing disabilities.
