About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing intensive teaching and natural environment training
  • Follow prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior
  • Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with individualized treatment protocols
  • Ensure documentation is completed on time and following established procedures
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding client progress
  • Utilize safe and appropriate procedures and report all critical incidents
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment
  • Assist BCBA/BC in preparation of client materials and assessments

Requirements

  • Current RBT certification or willingness to complete 40-hour training and exam within 45 days
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and physically perform tasks like getting on/off the floor
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license/insurance in some cases
  • Willingness to obtain CPR, First Aid certification, and TB test
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions
  • Proficiency with mobile devices and digital applications for data recording
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a Behavior Technician, Teacher's Aid, Tutor, CNA, Caregiver, or Home Health Aide
  • Experience working with children with autism or other learning disabilities

Life Skills Autism Academy provides ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) Therapy to help children on the Autism Spectrum develop critical developmental skills such as language, communication, social, and school readiness behaviors.
