Behavior Intervention Specialist

Requirements
Degree in Educational Leadership, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, or BCBA, Kentucky certificate or license, Knowledge of MTSS and special education, Safe Crisis Management training, Master's degree preferred, 5+ years experience preferred
About the role
Responsibilities
- Consult with and coach administrators and staff on behavioral interventions and de-escalation techniques
- Lead the development of Functional Behavior Assessments and provide guidance for behavior management plans
- Collect, analyze, and report behavioral data to inform decision-making and ensure plan effectiveness
- Support the Director of Special Education by attending ARC meetings to ensure IEP compliance
- Lead professional development sessions focused on behavior intervention
- Assist in crisis prevention, management, and post-crisis follow-up
- Coordinate Safe Crisis Management Restraint and Seclusion protocols
- Partner with building administrators to create productive learning environments and support social-emotional learning
- Coordinate community mental health agency partnerships at the elementary level and intensive interventions at the secondary level
Requirements
- Degree in Educational Leadership, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, or Board-Certified Behavior Analysis (BCBA)
- Valid Kentucky certificate or license for the assigned position
- Knowledge of Kentucky Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and special education regulations
- Ability to be trained in and perform Safe Crisis Management Restraint & Seclusion
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and faculty
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience
