Behavior Health Technician

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support individuals in care, maintaining safety and program structure
• Perform safety checks and document observations accurately
• Conduct 1:1 engagement to encourage treatment participation and emotional regulation
• Obtain vital signs at required intervals
• Administer medications (QMAP)
• Assist with admissions and discharges, including orientation and documentation
• Facilitate psychoeducational and skills-based groups
• Use verbal de-escalation strategies during behavioral health emergencies
• Support daily living needs such as meals, cleaning, and laundry
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary treatment team members
• Document all interactions and interventions in the electronic health record
• Maintain a trauma-informed environment of care

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field
• QMAP certification
• First Aid and CPR certification
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness
• Ability to work onsite in Denver for the specified overnight shift

Preferred Qualifications

• Behavioral Health Technician Certification or Qualified Behavioral Health Assistant (QBHA)
• Crisis setting experience
• Proficiency in a secondary language such as Spanish or ASL
