Beauty Reporter

Responsibilities

• Pitch, write and report 3 to 5 trending and/or news stories per day
• Work directly with editors on evergreen stories and product roundups
• Cultivate beauty industry contacts to break news and develop trend stories
• Monitor cultural events and social media for trending beauty coverage
• Apply SEO best practices to optimize readership
• Assist in building online features and optimizing social media content

Requirements

• 1-2 years of writing and reporting experience
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Ability to identify time-sensitive news and original story ideas
• Proven ability to perform under high-pressure conditions
• Understanding of journalism practices including fact-checking and sourcing
• Strong research skills and attention to detail
