About the role

Responsibilities

Assist the Landscape Manager in designing and maintaining healthy gardens and grounds
Supervise crew members and implement daily maintenance operations
Assist with the installation and maintenance of landscaping, irrigation systems, lighting, walkways, and fountains
Oversee the transplanting of vegetation, mulching, fertilization, and watering
Investigate work orders and citizen complaints to determine solutions
Conduct employee performance evaluations and schedule crew work based on weather and equipment availability
Oversee the mixing and application of pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides
Maintain detailed reports regarding scheduled and completed work
Meet with citizens and community organizations to convey project designs

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree preferred, or 6-8 years of related experience in horticulture or landscape architecture
5-7 years of supervisory experience
Valid Mississippi driver’s license
Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds
Ability to work in various outdoor weather conditions
