BDS Manufacturing Operations Lead

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end biologics drug substance manufacturing operations, ensuring high reliability, safety, and compliance.
• Establish and sustain robust processes with contingency readiness to mitigate operational risks.
• Evaluate and implement digital and AI solutions to improve yield, throughput, and predictive maintenance.
• Build, inspire, and retain a high-performing manufacturing organization through effective talent development.
• Orchestrate cross-functional collaboration with EHS, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Supply Chain.
• Drive production performance metrics, managing capacity, cycle times, and cost-efficiency.
• Lead the site through regulatory inspections, submissions, and new product introductions (NPI).
• Manage significant operational budgets with rigor and strong financial controls.

Requirements

• Minimum 12 years of experience in pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical manufacturing operations, quality, or technical services.
• Proven expertise in biological drug substance manufacturing.
• Extensive experience in people leadership and talent management.
• Practical experience with digital transformation and the integration of AI-enabled tools in operations.
• Deep knowledge of global GMP and regulatory requirements for clinical and commercial facilities.
• Undergraduate degree in Science or Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree such as an MS, PhD, or MBA.
• Strong continuous improvement focus and experience with process excellence methodologies.
• Comprehensive business acumen regarding manufacturing, logistics, and supply chain in GMP environments.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to lead presentations to diverse stakeholders.
